Gaping Void Comic Widget
Y’all should know by now I’m a huge fan of Gaping Void, comics by Hugh MacLeod. I think Wendy introduced me to the blog. During a talk, Doc Searls showed a cartoon about blogging I decided I should find to show in an upcoming talk. (Too bad I didn’t have it Tuesday!) While trying to find it on Gaping Void, I came across a widget where people can put his comics on their blogs. I’m going to try that on the scratchpad. Some of his cartoons are a bit, uh, risky for the work safe atmosphere I try to foster, but I think for the most part, they’re related to a lot of the blogging and marketing stuff we discuss here.
Unfortunately, Javascript doesn’t work in the posting box, otherwise, you could see how it works here. Instead, you’re just going to see the code you can use to post a comic on your own site.
Doc starts a fellowship at Berkman this year. Welcome to the Berkman family, Doc!
Addendum 9/26: I did misremember the gapingvoid comic Doc showed. It’s this one:
Person 1: We have nothing to say.
Person 2: Quick! Let’s talk about blogs!
(Hooray for blog platforms with archives by date!)
Several bloggers report it came out of a conference, perhaps either something Robert Scoble said or something Robert Scoble suggested Hugh draw as a cartoon.
