Nominate your Favorite LIS Mover and Shaker for an LJ Award!
Library Journal seeks nominations of movers and shakers in the library world for an upcoming issue about those of us shaping our profession in important, positive ways.
"The editors of Library Journal need your help in identifying the emerging leaders in the library world. Our sixth annual Movers & Shakers supplement will profile 50-plus up-and-coming individuals from across the United States and Canada who are innovative, creative, and making a difference. From librarians to vendors to others who work in the library field, Movers & Shakers 2007 will celebrate the new professionals who are moving our libraries ahead."
Among the past awardees are many familiar names, including Jessamyn West, Blake Carver, Stephen Abram, Mackenzie Smith (a former Harvard information systems librarian who now works on MIT’s DSpace), Jenny Levine, Steven Cohen, Matthew Battles (a Harvard librarian and author), Genie Tyburski, Kristin Eschenfelder, Tom Rink (Tulsa, Oklahoma, police officer and librarian), Sabrina Pacifici, and Meredith Farkas.
I can name some pretty amazing people not on their lists from previous years. Can’t you?
