Libraries and Toolbars

I finally got around to reading the October 2006 Searcher magazine article Helen Keil Losch and Daphne Chang wrote about Stanford’s Graduate School of Business library’s toolbar, FastJack. It’s a way for them to market the library and its services by giving their customers a handy set of links for their Web browser. It appears to be quite popular and has boosted library Web site traffic. The article shares how they created and market the toolbar. It seems like such a simple thing to do that more of us should do it.

You post content; they get revenue: These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new web pages.
