Best Free Reference Sites of 2006

Garrett’s Library News and Notes from a few weeks ago includes the Best Free Reference Sites of 2006, as gathered by the American Library Association’s Reference and User Services Association (RUSA). Some links, like Web MD and Merriam-Webster, are sites people might expect to be on the list. There are several that are new to me, like Acronym Finder (which keeps tabs on a certain Mystery Hunt team lists acronyms, abbreviations, and such) and National Atlas (which offers cool tools).

You post content; they get revenue: These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new web pages.
