Dave Winer is at blog group.
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately about how I’ve been blogging for about four years and, oh my gosh, where has the time gone and how many hours days weeks of cumulative time I’ve racked up blogging. I walk into blog group tonight for the first time in a while (See? Keeping the scratchpad up to date isn’t the only responsibility that’s been slipping.) and notice a familiar face at the far end of the long table: one of the main developers of RSS, creator of the scratchpad’s former blog platform Manila, former Berkman fellow, and blog group founder Dave Winer.
One of my first thoughts was “Oh! And I just left Manila for WordPress!” Then I remembered that he made that switch years ago.
And, yes, I am happy to see him. It’s been far too long. It will be nice to catch up.
PS–I don’t mean for Dave’s presence to overshadow tonight’s guest speakers Andy Carvin and Steve Clift. I just know some of you might want to know Dave is in town. Come on out!
Andy just finished giving us a quick overview about how National Public Radio is using weblogs and some of the things he’s done in the past four months of his job.
