Why Attend BarCamp?
Shimon wrote a personal summary about attending BarCamp because he, like me, had someone ask him why s/he should go.
I agree with most of what Shimon wrote, but I want to add that it’s equally valuable to connect to people you already know. One of the fun aspects of BarCamp for me is learning more about what people I know are doing, as well as making lots of new connections.
By answering via blog, Shimon got off easy. I helped someone hack inches of hard ice off his sidewalk while selling him on the conference in person.
No, I’m not doing that for anyone else to persuade someone to go to BarCamp, so don’t ask.
