SLA Annual Conference, June 2-5, 2007, Denver, Colorado
So, um, I’ve been a bit distracted this spring and have neglected to give my usual post about the Special Libraries Association Annual Conference, June 2-5, 2007, in Denver, Colorado.
As always, there are a lot of great things on the schedule. Former US Vice President Al Gore and Dilbert cartoon creator Scott Adams are giving keynotes. Don’t forget about the excitement the SLA News Division has planned. The banquet is at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. I can’t wait!
I think this is the first time in a few years I am not scheduled to make any presentations. I was approached, but had to turn several offers down because in the fall, it didn’t look like I would be at the conference this year. Anyone need someone to fill in for a canceled presesnter? I can talk about all sorts of Web 2.0 topics about which librarians want to learn.
The early bird registration deadline was, well, earlier than I expected it to be this year. Until May 25, registration is still discounted.
If you don’t know whether or not you should attend SLA, let me assure you that the money I’ve spent on the conferences has been well worth it (and, yes, I have had to pay my own way before).
