Mother’s Day Display at the Local Library

My local library has a terrific and somewhat tongue-in-cheek Mother’s Day display. It has a blurb about the importance of mothers in our lives—even if the female biological parent has been absent, she still has some kind of influence on us—and a variety of library material about mothers and our relationship to them. There was a movie about a son’s odd relationship with his mother, one of the Oedipus plays, a book about mothers and daughers, another work of fiction whose presence was quite appropriate, but whose title I forgot, and some other materials about motherhood and dealing with our mothers. It’s nice to see a display that covers many different aspects of motherhood.

I love my Mom. And, yes, I called her today.

Happy Mother’s Day!
