Murphy’s Law & My Computer
Here we go again. I finally had five minutes to catch up on some posts and my computer stopped booting all the way. I’ve been procrastinating getting a broken CD drive fixed, so I can’t boot from a CD. I dashed out to buy a Firewire cable, hooked the box up to another machine, booted it as a target, tried to run a disk repair utility, and failed because of some quirky error the repair disk throws. I’m not sure what’s wrong with it. I turned it off between a meeting and going home and it wouldn’t boot about an hour later. At least I can still see my files, all those podcasts I haven’t listened to yet …
Praps tomorrow I can find a machine that’ll run the repair utilities on that box.
