Free LIS Skill Share, Simmons GSLIS, 10 a-3 p, 9/22

On Saturday, September 22, the Simmons Progressive Librarians Guild at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Simmons College in Boston hosts the free, second annual GSLIS Skill Share from 10am-3pm. Learn some great stuff from LIS students. There’s even a session on news librarianship.

"There are a lot of things you can learn in library school. But there are a lot of other things that you’re unlikely to learn, because the classes being taught at any given time reflect the research interests of the faculty AND what happens to be fashionable in the LIS profession. The second annual GSLIS Skill Share is based on the belief that we as students have a lot that we can teach one another, based on our personal and professional experiences beyond the classroom."
