Andy Carvin on Web 2.0 & Journalism

While going through unread messages from the blog group, I found one Andy Carvin sent a while back about a presentation he gave on why journalists should care about Web 2.0. It’s definitely worth a read because he not only explores what some of the popular Web 2.0 technology is and how people use it, but he explains why some folks in the news industry perceive some of these technologies as threats and that news organizations should pay attention to trends and learn how to adopt the technology. A link to that talk is in a blog post about active citizenship and Internet filters that questions the purpose of filters in democracy.
