Family goat ate library book–honest!
The May 23 Bourne Courier had the following article called The family goat ate the library book–honest!:
“BOURNE – The Bourne Public Library received a package in the mail last week from the May family of Dennis.
The contents included a letter of lament from the Mays whose goat ate a book received at Dennis Memorial Library via the CLAMS and the BPL. The devoured book was entitled “How to Raise Pigs.”
The package also included a book replacement: “Storey’s Guide to Raising Pigs” by Kelly Klober. Also included were pictures of new piglets and the goat that ate the original book in the family’s grain room.
The 312-page replacement has been duly catalogued by BPL staffers. The May family says the original helped greatly in the birth of the piglets. Then it was devoured.
AnnaLee May, 10, practicing her cursive, hoped the replacement would suffice. And, she adds, the goat is about ready to kid.”
