About

I am the Executive Vice-President of CBI Japan, a non-profit leadership training institute headquartered in Nagoya, Japan. Welcome to my personal blog!

Although my academic training is in philosophy (in particular epistemology), after going to business school I was smitten by the strategy bug. I will be writing primarily in the areas of strategy, leadership, and effective communication. My primary target audience will be non-native English speakers, even though I will be writing exclusively in English. I hope this blog can be a relevant and useful resource for international business leaders and students as they seek to improve their leadership and communication skills in our increasingly globalized world.

I enjoy a good BBQ with my friends and family, American football (Go Chicago Bears!), and serving at my church with my family. I have been married for more than 14 years to my lovely wife and we have two young sons who are the joy of our lives.
