Talk by Jeffrey Toobin translating for normal people what McCain was saying in code to “the base” and Roe v Wade (John McCain wins – Roe is out).

Cases mentioned:

Roe v Wade – this is [the] one case that Governor Palin also does not like.

Ropper v. Simmons 543 U.S. 551 (2005) – executing minors is “cruel and unusual punishment” prohibited by the Eighth Amendment.

And Biden and Palin on Roe v Wade. At least both Biden and Palin agree there is right to privacy in the constitution (although I think only one understands how that right relates to Roe v Wade, and it is not Palin).

Of course if you want real straight talk on pro-life, here is Mike….

Mike Huckabee on overturning Roe v Wade, as a first step. He will not be president, but at least he still explicitly states what he believes — even if you disagree with it. Makes McCain and Palin look like compromisers with their should be decided by the states viewpoint.

McCain sayin he would not have nominated Ginsburg. Breyer, Souter and Stevens that said he voted to confirm Ginsburg. Breyer and Souter (he was not a senator when Justice Stevens was nominated, but he surely would have supported him as well). That said there is a difference between nominating and confirming.

Alito, Roberts he gives thumbs up. Thomas and Scalia ???
