Finally, something crafty for my so called craft blog. I started doodling with embroidery and this is what I have so far. I’ll keep on doodling to see what comes out of it.

I went to Nanstasket Beach (Hull, MA) on Saturday with some friends. I love that beach because the sand is fine and there are plenty of rocks, pebbles, and beach glass. My friend had mentioned that she wanted to pick rocks to line a boot tray so in the winter (what’s that?) you can put your snowy boots on them and the water would drip down into the tray. So I picked up a bunch of rocks and here’s my boot tray! I could use a little more filler rocks but I really like the look of it. This will be a nice reminder of summer during the long ass winter we have here in New England.
I was supposed to post something crafty today wasn’t I. Well, I did start a little embroidery project last night, something I call “embroidery doodling”. I didn’t get too far on it so maybe I’ll bring it to the beach with me tomorrow.

I was going through some of my craft supplies and came upon a ziploc bag full of fabric button kits I got from an estate sale a year ago. I made a few buttons with my vintage floral and Superbuzzy fabrics. Since these are small, they really make you notice the details of the prints. Can you see the 2 butterflies on the little brown button in the middle? Any ideas what I can do with these buttons?
