Done!

Woohoo, I finished my socks late last night!  I had just enough yarn to finish the right sock (my socks are right/left specific like shoes).

Just look at that sad puppy face…what’s Molly thinking?

I shaved my dog!

I bought a clipper yesterday and shaved Molly!  She was getting the summer itchies and was shedding clumps of hair all over the place.  I was going to bring her to get a professional cut but I decided to try it myself this time.  I put her in the bathtub (to contain the hair) and she was soooooo good about the whole thing.  I was very pleasantly surprised that she didn’t mind the buzzing sound at all.  It took us about 2 hours (the dog is super hairy) and both of us were exhausted afterwards.  She’s still a little fuzzy around the edges and she wouldn’t let me clip the hair between her toes but I think I did a decent enough job that the other dogs in the hood probably wouldn’t laugh at her homemade haircut.

And here’s her blurry mugshot.

My little garden

I’ve been growing vegetables at a community garden for a few years.  I really like playing in the dirt and getting a farmer’s tan.

Since I went to MD last weekend, this is what was waiting for me after skipping a weekend of weeding…  This is my lettuce patch.  You can kind of see some lettuce leaves poking out.

And here’s Molly trying to help me aerate the soil by digging a hole to China.  She stopped after awhile and lied in the hole she dug while I weeded on my hands and knees.

A cool link

A friend sent me this link http://www.mr-lee-catcam.de/pe_catcam1.htm.  Someone has attached a little camera to his cat’s collar and now we get to see what a cat does when it’s outside all day.  How cool is that?

Here comes the sun

The sun’s out finally!  It seemed like it rained all last week.  Anyhoo, I tried something new this weekend at a friend’s request … I signed up to be a proctor for a police civil exam for the state of Massachusetts.  I was actually a free floater and did a bunch of things and ended up being a hall monitor.  That’s right, I escorted future police men and women to the restroom.  It was a very long day and the only thing that kept me going was thinking about all the pretty fabric that I was going to get with the money … perhaps a little guilt free splurge at superbuzzy

Here’s a shot of my little furballs enjoying the sun and the breeze this morning.  They have no idea they’re going to the vet today for check ups and shots!!
