I was given my Slant o Matic sewing machine 5 years ago from my Aunt
it was my Grandmothers, she bought it brand new in 1957 for $700. All the attachments are still in the original boxes And I am just learning after all these years sewing again and I love it

I had this same idea. I plan on using heavier rigid plastic but was trying to figure out how to get the magnets to work. I like the idea of the double sided magnetic strips (found a link on a previous post), one strip on the window and another opposite strip on the plastic.

The bobbins are a common type, 66 I think. For those wanting manuels join one of the singer groups on yahoo (there are seveal) or you could go crazy and join them all (I did). They have manuels that can be down loaded in their files section on the group page, and of course lots of people willing to answer any questions.
