Mathieu is currently Harvard-Yenching fellow at Peking University, a Pforzheimer Public Service fellow at Internews China, and a consultant with Noank Media in Beijing. His research and advocacy focus on Internet media and e-government, in China and elsewhere.
He graduated last June from Harvard College, where he studied comparative politics and took electives in public management, in Mandarin, and in Chinese literature, philosophy and intellectual history. Mathieu was also research assistant at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School. Outside the university, he interned at Deutsche Bank Group Japan and at the Québec Executive Council, volunteered in China and Senegal, and has served on the board of the Humanity in Action senior fellow association since its creation in 2006.
Mathieu came to Harvard from the United World College of the American West and is a native of Sherbrooke, Quebec.
