nashvilleistalking.jpgSpecial to AudioBerkman: What happens when a local TV news station starts becoming a nodal point for the local blogosphere? WKRN/News 2 of Nashville, TN is finding out. WKRN calls Nashvilleistalking.com — a human-edited aggregation of Nashville’s blogs — “part of its ongoing commitment to listen.” One remarkable result has been the stable of weekend hosts, local bloggers who are paid $100 to keep the blog ticking over Saturday and Sunday. Last week’s host was Kevin Barbieux, who despite homelessness, keeps a blog on his daily experiences in Nashville at The Homeless Guy.

On this inaugural podcast from the Center for Citizen Media, Nashvilleistalking.com’s chief listener, Brittney Gilbert, talks to fellow hyperlocal blogger Lisa Williams of H2otown.info.
