Open Access 101

The news first!

Tomorrow, Prof. Charles Nesson will be speaking at a luncheon at the Berkman Center on open access in the classroom. RSVPs are required to attend, but the event will be webcast, podcast, liveblogged, streamed into Second Life, and video recorded, so please check it out!

Welcome one and all to Open Access 101! I hope that this blog will be a helpful resource for people who are wondering what open access is and why it’s an important issue for students, faculty, university administration, scholars, and all other creators and consumers of knowledge. The main focus of the site for now will be open access in terms of publishing, but there will be information pertaining to openness in class rooms and course materials as well.
