Good morning, readers!

I’m not sure how many of you are interested in Islamic philosophy — a fascinating area of study, one that I studied a little during my undergraduate days — but if you are, you might want to check out Islamic Philosophy Online. I’ve known about this resource for a while, but a recent post by Brian Leiter has nudged me to write my own post about it.

This site is a great place to find

  • Texts of Muslim philosophers, medieval, early modern, and contemporary
  • A Dictionary of Islamic Philosophy
  • A Map of Muslim philosophy, showing how it fits in with other philosophical systems and periods
  • The Journal of Islamic Philosophy
  • Bibliographies, and much more.

Who might be interested in Islamic philosophy?  Those who study the commentaries on Aristotle and Plato; Neo-Platonism; medieval philosophy; moral & political philosophy; epistemology, and time, to name but a few areas.

Do you know of other useful resources in Islamic philosophy?
