I flew into BOS eight-ish years ago on United and got to listen to the tower. They kept talking about going to RIPPIT. Any idea if that is a deprecated marker, or is it on another map?

Phil,
We have an area here (southern Virginia) that experimentals/ultralights fly in that's known as "Climax".
I'll let you draw your own conclusions...
Regards,

The DRUNK intersection has been around for a long time. Elsewhere in the area is BOSOX and the approaches at PSM (RNAV 16 - ITAWT ITAWA PUDYE TTAIT IDEED) and LEB (ILS 18 - HAMMM BURGR FRYYS). There are lots of these around like SLC (RNAV 34L - HOMAR MARRJ BAURT LIEZA) and MCI (ILS 1R - SPICY BARBQ RIBBS)..

That's a good one. Since you use the long runway at Pease in your private pilot lesson plan, I'm sure you know about this: http://204.108.4.16/d-tpp/0702/00678R16.PDF.

Sorry, that should be "have you seen". Anyway, be sure and read the waypoints out loud as you fly from the ITAWT IAF to the missed approach holding fix.
