And the recent case proves that: an unknown internet poker player, Benjamin LaBlond, took bested three top poker pros in the Canadian Open Poker Championship and won some decent amount of money – $100,000 for the first place finish.
Jeff Masden, Phil Hellmuth and Brad Booth who were bested were among the pros in the Championship tournament.
LaBlond admitted that that playing against real players is totally different from playing at the computer at home. He’ll definitely use this experience during the WSOP events.
PokerStars and the National Hockey League are going to offer a huge charity event to benefit the Ronald McDonald House and the NHL Players Association’s Goals and Dreams.
The event will take place at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas in the middle of June.
The tournament will be promoted on the online casino poker gambling site belonging to PokerStars. To attract players to the event, a big number of celebrities and athletes will compete in the poker event.
The charity poker tournament will operate in the conjunction with the annual NHL awards ceremony.
387 players took part in BodogLife $20,000 Added Easter Sunday Special tournament. The prize pool came to 458,700.
The first place winner, “zurswierding”, took $14,675. BodogLife revealed that this player’s earnings now exceed $80,000.
The second place winner, “bunkesty” took $9,392. He was followed by “fin2win” who won $5,928. “KrayZeeZ” was the fourth to finish with $4,696 and “cadsharkk13” finished fifth with $3,287.
BodogLife’s players are also given the chance to qualify for a seat at the upcoming WSOP 2009 in Las Vegas.
