Polish Online Gambling Industry Facing Troubles

by fsbo

donald tuskPoland being a new country for the internet gambling industry, as the country is only getting broadband internet access, is raged with political scandals. Donald Tusk, the Prime Minister, has used the internet gambling industry as a scapegoat for the scandals trying to refocus negative attention on the internet gambling industry.

Donald Tusk is known to have launched an anti-gambling campaign so that the corruption problems were associated with Polish gambling companies directly, but not the Polish government. It needs to be mentioned that, indeed, there were a number of politicians (now they are fired) involved in the tax scandal rocking Poland, however the current situation seems to be not fair to the online casino and land gambling companies.

Online Gambling Blooms

by fsbo

online gamblingThe leading financial newspaper The Financial Times concludes that the scenario for online gambling looks good, especially in Europe. The opinion of the newspaper is based on the interviews with some top executives in the online gaming industry whose optimism is based on the more open policies carried out by many governments and increasing penetration of broadband services, particularly in the countries where it is low now.

Significant changes in Europe will take place within the following two-three years and the growth is believed to be driven by the consolidation of operators in the online gaming industry.

Introduction of new technologies and products like real time betting, sports betting products and gambling through mobile phones is another reason for the growth of the online gambling industry.

However, according to The Financial Times, the USA and China may remain difficult sectors for online gambling.

How To Stop Information Leaks

by fsbo

players private informationLeaks of private information from online casinos are a major concern in the industry now.

Some people claim online casinos sell players’ information to outside parties. However, there is much information in the industry indicating that employees within online casinos download the information and sell it to the third parties while online casinos actually stay unaware of the leaks.
Players gambling online at some of the top online casinos and internet gambling sites are guaranteed that their personal information is secure. In this vew, with employees stealing this information and selling to the third parties the whole idea of security systems seems to be ironic.

So far, there seems to be no way out, but strict and proper regulations for the online casino gambling industry.

The question of control and regulation of internet sportsbetting throughout the EU has raised a debate.

The initial purpose of control is to protect gamblers, and the identity fraud has always been a big concern for gamblers. Some standards to handle the protection of personal and private data such as credit card details, addresses and phone numbers could be put in place. In addition to that the EU should also take control over match fixing and statistics.

The European Parliament is going to discuss this topic at the next session, however valid objections are expected.

New Regulations to Come into Effect in a Year

by fsbo

It has become known that due to the ambiguity in the regulations, it will take more time (approximately a year) for the new Spanish regulations to come into effect.

Lots of questions have been raised at the conference for all major gambling brands operating in the country. The questions and regulatory changes will be forwarded to the companies for clarification, and that process is very important.

The process of clarification will deal with the taxation process. At the moment, the majority of the gambling companies pay taxes on Spanish gambling revenues to the UK and some other countries. The new regulations, namely the changes in the taxation process, will let Spain get more money into the state budget.
