This study sheds a great deal of light on the importance of breastfeeding education for the counsellors. If they are not taking the socio-economic factors into consideration, they are really doing these babies and their mothers a disservice.

If all mothers understood the benefits of breastfeeding for their babies, there would be a lot of little lives saved.

Thanks for sharing the study. We will pass the information to our readers as well.

I am really surprised by the findings. My daughter just got through with breastfeeding her baby and quite oten there was the presence of blood in the breast milk. If HIV is transmitted through the bood it would only make sense that the baby would be more likely to contact the virus through the breast milk.
