ProspectMX has a great post in which they show a link building chart that helps put the different sources of links into perspective.
This is what it looks like:
It includes all of the major ways of building links, like linkbaiting, social communities, paid or traded links, cherry picking links and content submissions.
This PDF version of the chart is definitely print-worthy for your workstation.

An excellent chart thank you for sharing. I have printed one off and placed the chart on my wall near my computer. I would love to get a poster version also.
