J. Randall Short

I’m an assistant professor at Tokyo Christian University, where I teach mostly biblical studies related courses in both the Japanese and English degree programs. I am the author of The Surprising Election and Confirmation of King David (Harvard Theological Studies), which will be published in Spring 2010. I live in Chiba, Japan, with my wife and three daughters.

I started my first blog here at blogs.law.harvard.edu in 2003 while studying for my general exams at Harvard Divinity School. Unfortunately, I let that one slip away when Weblogs at HLS switched from Manila to WordPress, but the good people there have been gracious enough to host my blog again.

In the next few months, look for posts about my book (Amazon link this time–I think it’s well worth your money!). Besides that, I hope to increase the frequency of entries about a range of topics that are coherent within the context of my life, hence “categorization without compartmentalization.”

I welcome interaction through comments and Twitter. You can follow my tweets here, and tweets from TCU’s Asian Christian Theological Studies for English Speakers program here.
