I think it was a success. I had a few people over Saturday night to help decorate my Christmas tree. I spent a small chunk of Friday baking cookies and brownies, and spent a bit of time today cleaning and making ginger bread.
Around 7PM, as the guests arrived, the gingerbread came out of the oven and provided a lovely scent throughout my apartment. I also heated up some apple cider and gave everybody a glass with a cinnamon stick in it. Martha Stewart would be so proud.
Come to think of it, she wouldn’t be. I served the snacks and drinks in plastic cups and plates. Lacking a table in the living room, I placed the platters of cookies and brownies on the floor. Class act.
I did stumble upon a half empty bottle of Jack Daniels in the kitchen. I think my friend, Jack (no relation to the alcohol distributor) brought the bottle to a house warming party a few years back.
Still, despite my lack of hosting skills, I think the event was a success. Mike, Rich, Jason and Heath were in attendance and helped decorate the tree, devour the goodies, and watch Christmas Vacation on DVD. Here are the results:
