Ambassador Nicholas Burn was the State Department’s third ranking
official under the Bush Administration and is now a professor at the
Kennedy School. Ambassador Burns is a career diplomat who held many
high profile roles as Ambassador to NATO, Ambassador to Greece and
lead nuclear negotiator with Iran. He also was a key architect of the
Bush Administration’s controversial US-India Nuclear deal which broke
international precedent by providing key nuclear material and
assistance to a non-NPT treaty member.
