A Network of Mentors and Mentees
Scott points to Demitrious’ idea about connecting mentors and mentees. The Feedster sys admin wonders about creating a Web site where people can network based on their interest in mentoring: i.e. people looking for a mentor and people who want to be a mentor. Mentoring is a topic I see frequently in our professional literature. The value of mentoring seems to go both ways. Mentors enrich the careers and lives of those they support and often receive a value from whom they mentor. Many mentees/mentors form career-long/life-long relationships. I’ve written about mentoring before, so I won’t repeat what I typed earlier in this space. I am and have been both a mentor and a mentee.
In a response to Demitrious’ post, Ian Landsman opines that connecting mentors and mentees should be done on a smaller, more local level.
PS–I think the name of Demitrious’ blog is awesome: The Junk Drawer.
