The deadline to apply for one of possibly two $750 stipends for the 2005 ASIST Annual Meeting is Friday, May 20. Applicants must submit a 5-10 page paper written during the 2004-05 academic year and meet other criteria. I’ve heard not many students apply for this award.
Andrea Nemetz is the 2005 recipient of the Vormelker-Thomas Student Award, which provides funds to a graduate student or recent graduate interested in news librarianship to atttend her/his first Special Libraries Association Annual Conference. The SLA News Division and ProQuest sponsor the award. Blog reader Amy Disch won the award last year.
