Age for Age Discrimination Suits Lowered

When I read the U.S. Supreme Court ruled to make it easier for workers over age 40 to sue for discrimination, I wondered what protections exist for age discrimination in the other direction: people younger than 40 not being hired because they’re too young. We hear a lot about age discrimination in cases involving older employees. Surely there have been instances where candidates have been rejected because they’re too young, especially in a profession like ours with a strong stereotype of workers being older. Are younger professionals really valued so much that they wouldn’t get rejected because of their age?

Maybe one day I’ll look into it more.
