European Leaders Appeal to EU for Digital Library Project

Concerned that Google’s project to digitize selected holdings of major US libraries will give an American slant to available digital material, leaders of several major European countries have appealed to the European Union to start an equal European project.
Back in Feburary, I highlighted similar thinking from the head of the National Library of France.
