What’s Nancy Pearl Been Doing?
The Seattle Times tells us what Nancy Pearl, the librarian on whom the librarian action figure is modeled, has been doing lately.
Most importantly, it reports:
"An ‘action figure’ made in her likeness has been reissued in ‘deluxe’ form, with book cart, desk and computer, and has just arrived at the Archie McPhee store in Ballard"
Field trip, anyone?
It also claims the librarian action figure is Archie McPhee’s best selling item in its history.
About the controversy over the "amazing push-button shushing action!," Pearl says:
"There are too many other things in the world to be shocked and outraged about. As librarians, we need to take our work seriously, but we shouldn’t take ourselves too seriously."
When I went to Archie McPhee’s site to look for the action figure links, they were featuring the original action figure on their front page.
