More about the Recent Wikipedia Developments
Wikipedia continues to be in the blogs and the news.
Amy Disch shared a link to a memo on a Poynter discussion board from a New York Times editor suggesting that reporters not use Wikipedia as a source anymore.
C-Net News explores Wikipedia’s legal liability in light of the Seigenthaler situation. Based on certain legislation and case law, it doesn’t seem like Wikipedia would be held legally responible for its content. I didn’t notice anything in the article about how liability would work on a site where someone bothered by content could possibly change it. I guess we’ll only really know if someone tries to sue Wikipedia. *j knocks wood hard
I saw both of these links on Newslib. It’s such an awesome list. Today was the first day in many I actually didn’t post anything to the list. I’m sure that made some people very happy. Of course, I was running radio interviews all afternoon and not at my desk, but don’t tell them that. ; )~
After reading The New York Times article about Wikipedia Sunday, someone dug up my phone number and called to ask me about it.
