Who Blogged BloggerCon?

Sunday, April 18th, 2004

Tara Liloia pulled together an awesome list of people who blogged about BloggerCon and links to their posts about the conference. What a huge help for those of us looking for coverage! Thanks, Tara!

New York Times Coverage of BloggerCon

Sunday, April 18th, 2004

Julie Flaherty focuses on Jeff Jarvis’ Blogging as a Business session, which highlighted ways bloggers could potentially make money from what they’re doing.
The answer everyone’s wondering about: at this time, there don’t seem to be many, if any, bloggers who are making enough money through their blogs to quit their real jobs. Several make [...]

Librarianesque Session Notes

Sunday, April 18th, 2004

I posted partial notes for the Librarianesque Session at BloggerCon. I apologize for not having the energy to flush them out more at this point. I hope to finish them Monday, but I’m not making any promises or guarantees. (I think I might have gotten all of twelve hours of sleep this weekend, including a [...]

BloggerCon Problem #1: Laptop Doesn’t Have Wireless

Saturday, April 17th, 2004

So that laptop I bought, I bought primarily to do wireless stuff. Only it didn’t come with anything to enable me to do wireless like I thought it would. I don’t know how much blogging I can do during the conference because we’re in an old building with very few data jacks. Some of the [...]

Librarianesque Session at BloggerCon Info

Saturday, April 17th, 2004

This is a hodge podge of stuff about Saturday morning’s Librarianesque Session.
The discussion happens in room 202 of Pound Hall at the Harvard Law School campus from 10:30 until 11:45 am. If you did not register in advance for the conference, you will not be allowed to attend. There is no on-site registration.
The Webcast is [...]

BloggerCon Dinner was Great!

Saturday, April 17th, 2004

I met a few new people, got to catch up with Kris Liberman (a really cool librarian who knits, works at Fidelity, and might read this blog), talked to another librarian who may be in the audience of the Librarianesque Session, sat across from Steve, who is featured on page 98 of an issue of [...]

Wanted: Digital Video Recorder for Dim Sum Outing

Friday, April 16th, 2004

Does anyone who’s coming to dim sum have a digital camcorder or camera that’ll take a moving picture with sound s/he could bring? We want to record the Accordion Guy while the group is together and post the video on the Web.
I hope this doesn’t scare anyone away from the outing. If you don’t want [...]

Food After Saturday’s BloggerCon Anyone?

Thursday, April 15th, 2004

A friend of mine happens to be having one of her famous parties on the evening of Saturday the 17th. If I finish with BloggerCon stuff early enough, say before 11 pm, I should put in an appearance. She said I could bring people. It’s the kind of party where people sit around drinking wine, [...]

Webcasts for BloggerCon in Jeopardy

Thursday, April 15th, 2004

It looks like the Berkman Center’s license for RealServer, which is used to do streaming for Webcasts, expired yesterday. They’re trying to get the license problem resolved in time for Saturday’s conference.
Addendum 4/16: Dave reports on the BloggerCon blog that the Webcast problem has been resolved. Hooray!

BloggerCon Registration Has Closed

Wednesday, April 14th, 2004

It is now too late to register for BloggerCon. Some of the sessions will be Webcast and there may be IRC, so there are opportunities to participate without being physically present at the conference.
And you don’t have to be registered for BloggerCon to join some of us for dim sum on Sunday or to knit [...]
