Bush Admits Condoning Torture

Posted by stoptorture on April 13th, 2008

ABC News reports that Bush knew that Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Powell, and Tenet met and authorized the use of specific torture techniques on particular prisoners.  This astounding admission has gotten little attention in the media so far, which is remarkable given it is seemingly conclusive evidence of Bush’s liability for torture and war crimes, all impeachable offenses.

Highlights from ABC News:

“Well, we started to connect the dots in order to protect the American people.” Bush told ABC News White House correspondent Martha Raddatz. “And yes, I’m aware our national security team met on this issue. And I approved.”

As first reported by ABC News Wednesday, the most senior Bush administration officials repeatedly discussed and approved specific details of exactly how high-value al Qaeda suspects would be interrogated by the CIA.

The high-level discussions about these “enhanced interrogation techniques” were so detailed, these sources said, some of the interrogation sessions were almost choreographed — down to the number of times CIA agents could use a specific tactic.

These top advisers signed off on how the CIA would interrogate top al Qaeda suspects — whether they would be slapped, pushed, deprived of sleep or subjected to simulated drowning, called waterboarding, sources told ABC news.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

It was later released, after Bush was out of office, that he and his administration did condone torture. I am pretty sure there will be more information and possibly reprimands for such actions or maybe I am just hoping that this is the case. I doubt Bush will be punished, but those who were directly involved may be reprimanded; if only a slap on the hand.

Thanks for your concepts. One thing we’ve noticed is always that banks plus financial institutions know the dimensions and spending patterns of consumers and understand that many people max out and about their credit cards around the holidays. They wisely take advantage of this fact and commence flooding a person’s inbox along with snail-mail box along with hundreds of no interest APR card offers just after the holiday season closes. Knowing that if you are like 98% in the American open public, you’ll soar at the opportunity to consolidate card debt and transfer balances for 0 apr interest rates credit cards.

Making a Great personal ad – Show who you really are – In case you have an excellent sense of humour, don’t just tell individuals that you’re funny prove it in your ad. Be realistic. Making a Great personal ad – Be honest – As I stated above what exactly is the point of misleading someone, it’s going to only result in disappointment for both of you. If somebody says they’re looking for an athletic sort it is unlikely they are going to change their mind on a very first date and they are also not likely to trust anything else about you.

It’s true that firms scaled back the corporate excesses, like fancy retreats and private jets, for which they were vilified as a brutal recession gripped the country. Many of those constraints remain in place, like flying commercial on business trips, or more limited private car service for employees.
