Cross-Registration Feedback Wanted
As many of you know, Harvard has been working hard to unify the different schools within the university. (This is the reason for the changes in the academic calendar this year). In order to help the administration with this goal, we would love to hear how your experiences have been with cross-registration. Please be as specific as possible so we can try to streamline the process (aka what elements have and have not worked for you).
Thanks!

Over all, the cross-registration process is pretty smooth, but I do think some things could be improved.
1) I think that it is ridiculous that classes can start as early as Sept.2 but we cannot register until Sept. 9. Why not allow students to cross register for classes as soon as possible? That way, if the class doesn’t work out, we can still drop it without hitting up against that Drop Passing/Drop Failing deadline.
2) Even though I know I turned in the cross-registration form and everything has been approved, by cross-registered classes do not show up on my Transcript or on the unofficial transcript on MyHLS. Can we fix this?
3) Finally, I know it makes sense to have the professor sign the petition sheet, but a lot of this can be done online. I see no reason to require a physical sheet for a professor to sign. Can we create a website that allows you to generate an an online form, send it to the appropriate professor for his/her approval, and then send it to the appropriate Registrar?
On the whole, the system is good. But it could be better with a few improvements.
Thanks Student Government!
