I’m really hoping this article was intended more for humor than for news. Am I the only one who feels no sympathy for the poor stressed out bloggers? The NYT might as well have published another article (hardly newsworthy because it’s so obvious): “In World of 24/7 Stress, [Lawyers/ Managers/ I-bankers/ insert other group of choice] Work Til They Drop.”
I admit that the 24/7 nature of the work world in general is a product of the internet, email, Blackberrys, etc. — and a more in-depth look at how these technologies are changing the way our society approaches work would have been interesting. Maybe that article is being saved for a spread in the NYT Magazine one day soon?

I actually thought it was a joke at first glance. I thought perhaps Arrington was being sarcastic, but the reporter had misunderstood and taken him seriously. Yet, despite the point Mariel rightly makes above, it does appear to be a serious article. Then again, perhaps it was written to engender precisely that type of reaction. After all, it has now given rise to two posts on this blog and one on the blogging group’s meta-blog.
