Raining/reining in summer
September 6, 2010 at 9:45 pm | In just_so | Comments OffWe do things differently here on the Canadian We(s)t Coast than we did back East in New England, that’s for sure.
After a night of relentless rain that followed an already cooling Sunday, we woke up this morning to a Labor Day (ok, Labour Day) sodden with all the signs of autumn. It rained throughout the day, and by evening the fog rolled in – those fog horns sure clinched that “summer is over” feeling.
So much for beach-side BBQs, hot dogs, t-shirt weather and heat, humidity, mosquito repellent, and running inside to get out of the way of hurricanes…
Instead, I pulled on a winter jacket to manage the afternoon toddle to Cook Street Village with my dog.
Of course, given the crazy nature of climate these days, we might be in sandals again by the end of the week.
(Gawd, I sure hope so…)
