This week we started issuing invitations to interview with a member of our office and we get to start talking with you next week! If you are offered an interview spot, that means we know a lot about you already—we’ve read your personal statement, letters about you, your resume, etc. But to be fair, you don’t know a whole lot about us. So to level the playing field, I wanted to share short bios on the HLS Admissions staff members who will be conducting interviews with me this fall (and if you want to know more about me, scroll all the way down to my intro blog 😉 We’re looking forward to talking with you!
Danielle Early is an Associate Director of Admissions. She is entering her fourteenth year of working in admissions which includes time spent at the Harvard College Office of Undergraduate Admissions and at Clark University. She received her undergraduate degree in 2000 from Clark University with a double major in Communications and Culture combined with Studio Arts, and went on to earn a Masters in Professional Communications from Clark in 2006. In addition to her daytime job in Austin Hall, she has spent the last four years living in Harvard Yard as a proctor for the Harvard College Freshman Dean’s Office and has served for six years as a member of the Board of Freshman Advisors. In her spare time, she’s either hiking with her dog or baking for her dorm.
Lauren Gold is an Assistant Director of Admissions. In her role at HLS, she participates in recruitment travel, application review, interviewing, and oversees all yield programs (the time of year when the tables turn and we vie to get you to come to HLS!), so you will see her around during Admitted Students Weekends. Lauren is also the main Admissions contact for current students and student organizations at HLS. Prior to coming to HLS, Lauren received her Ed.M. at Harvard Graduate School of Education. This California girl went to Bates College, and ever since has loved everything Maine: L.L. Bean, lobster, moose, and golden retrievers (though, they can be anywhere). She has other feelings towards the New England winters, but if she can handle it, you can too!
Anne Taylor is an Assistant Director of Admissions. Anne comes to the office with a strong background in graduate school admissions. After completing her MBA in 2002 from Georgetown University, she began her admissions career working with MBA programs at the University of Colorado, Boulder and most recently at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to graduate school, Anne spent three years working with a major retail chain in planning and inventory management. Fellow Hamilton College graduates, Anne and her husband have lived all over the United States, but are thrilled to be home in Boston. When she is not reading applications, she can most likely be found creating concoctions in the kitchen or building Lego masterpieces with her two children.
