Constitutional Amendment
The Proposal of Constitutional Amendment that was created to “solve” the lack of payment of the Municipal and State precatórios was initiated in 2006. The Federal Precatórios have ALL been paid on time since the year 2000, but the States and Municipalities have not been as diligent as the “União” in these payments and today there is a backlog of around R$100 bilhões Municipal and State precatórios.
This Proposal of Constitutional Amendment, known as PEC12/06 or PEC do Calote, was finally approved on 9/Dec/09.
